Jhal Muri, Jhal Muri,
A lip smacking delicacy,
From the streets of Kolkata,
Gifted to us all over India.
Crunchy puffed rice taken in a bowl,
Aroma of blended spices makes us rock and roll.
Grated ginger with chillis and coriander,
Mixed with onions, tomatoes and cucumber.
All the vegetables cut in small pieces,
With boiled potatoes diced to same sizes,
With salt, amchur and chaat masala,
Add mustard oil for that extra rich flavour.
A small helping of tamarind chutney,
Will enrich the mixture, but will make it soggy.
Fried peanuts and some teekhi sev,
Will work as magic on your palate.
So easy to make, this savoury mixture,
Will leave you licking all your fingers.
